Established in 1953, the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (FEP) is a reference in the field of Economics and Management regarding higher education and fundamental and applied research. FEP has pioneered the teaching of Economics and Management in Portugal and that is shown by the diversity and gauge of its programmes: FEP offers two Bachelor programmes, fifteen MSc programmes - of which four are taught in English - and two PhD programmes - also taught in English. FEP comprises 152 faculty members that combine a high academic level with great teaching ability. On top of its greater research-oriented faculty, FEP has professors with relevant practical experience, arising from managing and consulting for private and public organizations. FEP has several research centers, of which CEF.UP and LIAADD are ranked Very Good and Excellent, respectively, by FCT, the Portuguese public scientific research funding institute FEP attracts the students with the highest entry scores in Portuguese universities in the areas of economics and management and its Alumni are placed in top management positions in the most important companies and institutions in Portugal, across all industries, reflecting the privileged access to an extremely large and notorious corporate partner network. For the academic year 2014/15, a total of 2976 students were registered in FEP: 1588 BSc students, 1269 MSc students and 119 PhD students. That same year, FEP welcomed more than 300 students, coming from over 60 different countries. FEP students also use the opportunity to study abroad in the more than 100 FEP partner schools spread over 30 countries. Further, FEP belongs to QTEM Masters International Network that gathers outstanding students from 12 top economics schools worldwide. With respect to executive education, FEP is deeply involved with Porto Business School, a non-profit association between the U.Porto and some of the most representative Portuguese companies.
